File Count after modifying Metadata file extension

admin 2 years ago updated by Vlad R 2 years ago 1

How do you update to the correct file count after adding a file extension to a file type?

For example under Photos I added .png as it was not listed there before. However the file count remains the same. Obviously I know that I have numerous .png files. There a way to make it recount?

You would need to reindex the files. Either via the user interface signed in as superuser (right-click folder, More options.., Control Panel, Index file metadata, Run) or via the command line (see "metadata_index.php" here: https://docs.filerun.com/command_line_tools).

Though, PNG is included by default as Photos via the "img" associated "File types".
