Favicon.ico doesn't show

nassimbentarka 3 years ago in Feature requests updated by Vlad R 2 months ago 6

I'm running FileRun on my server.. Everything works fine. But when I added the favicon.ico file in the main directory of FileRun it doesn't show. I tried to debug the problem, so I found that the index source code doesn't implement something like:

<link rel="icon" type="image/x-icon" href="favicon.ico">

And another challenging thing is that the php payloads are encoded, so I can't add any block of code within the index.php file...

You should find the HTML code inside "system/modules/fileman/sections/default/html/" for both the login page and the rest. You can edit it freely. Just keep in mind that it would probably get replaced by FileRun software updates.

P.S. FileRun includes the HTML tag for an empty icon, to avoid filling up the server's logs with 404 errors related to the favicon.

I noticed when I browse to or create a bookmark to anything but the default URL such a link to control panel - activity logs the favicon.ico appears. When I browse or bookmark to the default URL, there is no fav icon.

Thank you so much ! The problem is solved, the favicon.ico is showed with success. I just added this line

<link rel="icon" type="image/x-icon" href="favicon.ico">
into all HTML files in the specified path.

Thanks for support ! :)

With the next FileRun version, one can enable the default "favicon.ico" file by adding the following inside "customizables/config.php":

$config['app']['ui']['enable_favicon_ico'] = true;

In the current version of FileRun, is this still the case? Or can I just replace the favicon.ico in the top directory?
