white list extension

Christophe N 3 years ago in Feature requests updated by Vlad R 2 years ago 3

Instead of the current "Blocked File types" I think that a white-list would be better.

Currently here the section I use :

php,sh,htaccess,ini,exe,css,html,cgi,txt,bin,avi,ogg,mov,m4v,mpeg,mpeg2,vob,ppt,pptx,doc,docx,xls,xlsx,zip,rar,7z,tiff,tif,svg

With a white-list it could be :

jpg,jpeg,png,gif,mp4,csv

Cause I'm sure that I forgot some extensions in the blocked list.

With the upcoming FileRun update you will be able to limit users to uploading only files of predefined types. This is a per-user permission option, so you can have users limited to certain file types while at the same time other users that can upload any type of file.

The "Blocked file types" general option still remains and is still in effect for the users that do not have a list of "Allowed file types" set.

This change will be included in the next FileRun update. Thank you for the feature request.
