  1. Does Filerun provide an end-to-end encryption of files such that during transfer of files (uploading or downloading or sharing) the files are encrypted and secure? or is the securing of files the responsibility of the web hosting company
  2. Can i install the script on a shared server or it must be installed on a vps?
  3. Can someone suggest some good shared webhosting company that support Filerun.
  4. Please Do not recommend Digital ocean as i am not comfortable with their support styles.

Hi!

1. Yes. It's not provided by FileRun, but covered by SSL, when accessing FileRun via HTTPS.

2. It works also on shared hosting accounts.

3. I haven't yet seen one that FileRun doesn't work with, or works poorly. It depends of course of needs and usage. VPS is safer because it allows more control over the PHP configuration or the third-party software which sometimes is needed for various tasks. VPS also usually provides more hardware resources, so the app feels considerably snappier.

4. We have some good guides on our blog on setting things up with DigitalOcean. We can also help you if you encounter problems during the process.

Many thanks for your reply.

  1. I notice that my previous trial installation of Filerun is not active as in nothing shows anymore when you visit the site.  I want to know if it is the fault of my web host or that of my failure to renew the license.
  2. I am researching for new relaible VPS that i can use to run my Filerun and which can provide me me with good storage space as i am planing to deploy Filerun for business for multiple users.
  3. Let me know also if I can use Filerun as explained below:

I want to know if the enterprise version of Filerun can be set to store uploaded files in a remote cloud storage systems like Google drive, or other storage server apart from the very server/directory where the application is installed.  If the answer is "YES"then can it manage those remote files easily as if the files are also stored with it on same server?

I am asking this in the sense that if in the future there will be need to deploy the application(Filerun) on a separate server and the data files stay on a different server.

I know Filerun has grown to be a robust scripts and i want to know more about it.
