Error when trying to preview PNG, Action "image_viewer" is missing its "run" method

grheard 3 years ago updated by Vlad R 3 years ago 4

Thumbnails are not generated for PNG images and the error, "Action "image_viewer" is missing its "run" method" is returned when trying to preview them. I have imagemagick, pngquant, and ffmpeg enabled on the system. FileRun is running on Ubuntu 16.04.2.

Thanks,

Glenn.

That file has only a few hundred bytes. FileRun does not generate thumbnails for files so small.

When checking the ImageMagick path, in FileRun's control panel, look in the result text for PNG support. If you can't find it, it means your ImageMagick can't handle the format. In that case you probably have to recompile ImageMagick with "./configure --with-png=yes".

Here is the output of imagemagick:

Version: ImageMagick 6.8.9-9 Q16 x86_64 2017-05-26 http://www.imagemagick.org Copyright: Copyright (C) 1999-2014 ImageMagick Studio LLC Features: DPC Modules OpenMP Delegates: bzlib cairo djvu fftw fontconfig freetype jbig jng jpeg lcms lqr ltdl lzma openexr pangocairo png rsvg tiff wmf x xml zlib

It says it has png support and when i convert a png like:

convert image.png image.jpg

It creates a valid jpg. So it would appear to be working. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Glenn.

Apparently its not all pngs that dont work, but only some.

This one, for instance, is one it won't make a thumbnail or preview for.
