API authorization error after logging into mobile app

jacob 3 years ago updated by Vlad R 3 years ago 5

Every time I attempt to use the FileRun mobile app, I am able to log in successfully, but instead of seeing a list of files, I get a blank screen with "Loading..." at the top and a bubble that says "API authorization error!" at the bottom. Returning to the accounts list in the app shows that my server "Requires sign in," but clicking that just leads me to the blank page again. I can clear the cache, remove the account, or reset the entire app, but attempting to log in again always yields the same results.

The only error in my PHP log is this line, which appears once every time I attempt to connect via the app:

PHP Deprecated: Automatically populating $HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA is deprecated and will be removed in a future version. To avoid this warning set 'always_populate_raw_post_data' to '-1' in php.ini and use the php://input stream instead. in Unknown on line 0

Any idea what is going on?

Difficult to say without having a closer look. The logged error message is unlikely to be caused by FileRun but by the PHP config.

Does accessing FileRun via WebDAV (http://docs.filerun.com/webdav) works?

When I attempted to access <filerun-url>/dav.php using my file manager's WebDAV functionality, I was prompted for my password, then told that dav.php does not exist.

When I attempted to access my FileRun installation via the Nextcloud desktop client, I entered my FileRun URL into the Server Address field, entered my credentials, and saw the error "Access forbidden by server," which seems to show up no matter what I enter into the credential fields.

In both of these cases, it appears that the software is recognizing the server and attempting to connect, but something's going wrong with authentication.

I've also just noticed that when I log into my user account in FileRun and go to my user settings, I have the option to revoke access to FileRun Mobile, and I see the date that I last attempted to log into the app as the date I "granted" access.

Sounds like there might be an issue with the HTTP authentication not being passed by the web server to PHP. It can happen under some configurations.
