Google Docs Viewer, Office and Office Web Viewer are all options to view a file, not edit it.

To edit Office files, FileRun provides the plugins Google Docs Editor, ONLYOFFICE and Zoho Editor.

Under review

What FileRun version are you using? What specific file type (extension) are you trying to edit? What is the method you are trying to edit the file with? Where are you seeing the error message, and please provide the full error message.

What FileRun version are you using? — The latest, I update today. The problem is been on since day 1 of using FileRun.

What specific file type (extension) are you trying to edit? — DOCX

What is the method you are trying to edit the file with? — Online and locally. Any Word Document I put into the folder become readonly file.

Where are you seeing the error message, and please provide the full error message. — I don't think this is an error. Just a change of file permission.

Thanks

What is the method you are trying to edit the file with? — Online and locally.

By method I was referring to FileRun plugin (Open with..).

By put you mean upload through FileRun? Is it "readonly" in the server's file system?

I use office and it opens the local Word App and it's readonly format. I used the web viewer it was all same.

And yeah when I upload to FileRun directly through the web or sync via Nextcloud app.
Something to note is any Word Doc I put in the Nextcloud folder for sync also becomes readonly when I open it locally or online.

How about the fact that locally, all my word documents file in the next cloud folder also become read only when I copy and paste them in.

Any word document I put in that folder locally automatically becomes read only.

It changes the permission for some reasons.

I suggest you reinstall the latest app version from here: http://filerun.com/download

Adding the account again would be recommended. Most probably the changes that were made in the new FileRun version, which were supposed to solve this, were not registered by the Nextcloud app yet.
