.filerun Folders

Paul L 3 years ago updated by Vlad R 10 months ago 4

I assumed FileRun cached/stored file info in its database or a temp folder but it seems it is created hundreds of extra folders all over my hard drive.

I see the names

.filerun.trash

.filerun.versioning

.filerun.thumbnails

My questions would be... does it have to be done this way and are there any other folders it's creating on my hard drive I should know about?

There are various advanced configuration options which you could use to have FileRun store your deleted files, or the thumbnail cache somewhere else than next to the files you manage. You can find the options listed here: http://docs.filerun.com/advanced_configuration

The old file versions will always be stored next to the original file. There is no option for changing that, other than disabling the versioning system altogether.

Other than the listed folders, FileRun does not create others.

Thank you.

I missed the "System" section under "Advanced configuration" ;)

Hi Vlad,

I have found two options for trash and thumbnails but for the versioning folder there is no config to move it outside of the original file structure. How can i move them?

Is there any other files/meta/modifications being done to the original file structure other than those three?

Thanks.

The answers to both questions are in the thread's answer above.
