Cannot view PDF files

radovan.urban 2 years ago updated by Vlad R 2 years ago 6

Hello, I have 2 similar installations of FileRun. First is hosted on commercial web hosting, the second one is installed on VPS with CentOS. PDF view settings are the same on both installations (web browser), but I get different results. First site is OK and I can see PDF in popup window (image 1). On the second site the view of the same PDF file is streched to full browser window and PDF is failed to load. There are no problems with other file types. Do you have some advice what can be wrong?

Thank You.

Radovan

The mentioned download accelerator option is available under "Control Panel" > "Configuration" > "Files" > "Misc options". Choosing one that is not available has the consequence of file downloads being of 0 bytes. Unfortunately FileRun cannot detect if the selected option is valid or not.

Under review

I see two different ways of opening the file in the two screenshots. Is it the same browser and are you clicking the same things?

yes, I double click on the same PDF file in Chrome browser. just different installation.

Try to open the file in the same way, in both cases. (As you notice in your screenshots, one have been opened directly with the PDF viewer, and the other with the image viewer.)

I open the files same ways, and pdf is configured to be opened in browser (see image 1 below). There are also popup message "Loading..."  still present on the screen. Maybe there is some link to the problem. (see image 2 below).

But I also noticed that a size of downloaded pdf file (pdf files only) is always zero on the problematic installation. Original file size on server file system is alright. (see image 3 and 4 below).

According to Vlad`s recommendation, I tried to turn off download accelerator and problem is solved. Thanks you!
