FileRun Not Emailing Links

Tyler C 1 month ago updated by Vlad R 1 month ago 7

I’m having issues getting FileRun to email links. Everything else is operating normally. I had the app on a shared server initially and email worked, but I recently transferred to a VPS and that’s when it stopped working. When trying to send I get the error “Unexpected reply from this application's server”

I am using SMTP, and have SMTP setup on another app on my server that is functioning properly so I know SMTP isn’t the issue. I’m fairly certain the issue is something on my VPS I’m just not sure what to check.

What is the output you get when you test the SMTP settings you set in the FileRun control panel?

”The SMTP settings have been successfully tested”

And is the email message that this test produces received?

Yes, test email is delivered.

I recommend you to check the PHP error log for related entries. Make sure that "log_errors" in set to "On" in your PHP configuration and you check the appropriate "error_log" file.

After several tests, I can't seem to get any php errors from the email sending problem. However, I created a test link and when I go to it everything seems fine but if I click on the the document (not the download all button) I get this error:

Fatal error: Uncaught --> Smarty: Unable to load template 'file:system/modules/weblinks/sections/public/html/preview.html' <-- thrown in *DOMAIN NAME BEING CENSORED*/clients/download/system/classes/smarty/libs/sysplugins/smarty_internal_template.php on line 163

I'm not sure if this is related to the email problem, but I need to figure this out as well.

Note: the download button does work, just clicking on the document doesn't work.

You might have missing files from your FileRun installation, or permissions of the folder "systam/data/temp/smarty" does not allow PHP to write data in there.
