(Chrome/Edge) PDF viewing problem: Requests to the server have been blocked by an extension.

Paul L 8 months ago updated by Vlad R 5 months ago 17

After latest update to Microsoft Edge 88, I am unable to view any files using FileRun.  The response is always "Requests to the server have been blocked by an extension".  I have no extensions running and this only happens when trying to access files in FileRun.

Anyone else have this issue?

Please replace the file "customizables/plugins/open_in_browser/app.php" in your FileRun installation with this file: https://bit.ly/2YxjHE3 It should fix the problem.

Specifically PDF documents.

We've also had this issue pop up to users using Chrome or Edge.

If they switch to Internet Explorer or Firefox they can access the site again.

We've also looked over their browsers and can find no add-ons, extensions, etc. that would block a request to the server.

I have a feeling since both Edge is built on Chromium and Chrome is well Chrome that a new security update is looking at something different that possibly FileRun needs to address and that's why the error only shows up in Chrome and Edge.

I have also this issue, on PC, which not have updated chrome PDF work OK, on another PC, where si newest Chrome is text:

"Requests to the server have been blocked by an extension.".

I also have this kind of problem, how can I solve it

I also have kind of this problem:

In chromium based Browser I get the response mentioned above, when I try to preview the PDF. In Firefox nothing happens. "Open with " Google Docs Viewer works with Firefox, but not with chromium based Browser.

Looking into this.

Almost.. Thank you very much for this fix! It works great for chromium based Browser, but with Firefox there is still no prewiev shown.

I don't confirm any problem in Firefox. Please describe "no preview shown".

Ok, if I click on "Preview" I just see a blank page. Now I saw that the file gets downloaded to my hard drive instead. I now think that this is just a misconfiguration in Firefox. My OS is Ubuntu 20.04. Sorry, I didn't see that before.

Thumbnails show up Preview does not. Invalid path and other errors occur.

Yandex browser gives the OPEN button on Preview when clicking open > invalid path.. Samsung internet just a blank screen on Preview no you open button

i had the same problem with google chrome, but the new app.php from vlad help, but only in chrom. in firefox i can also see no preview more. it always open a "save as" windows.

Ok, i found my problem. it was in firefox settings, under "applications". for pdf there was a "save file" option. now there is "open with firefox". all ok now
