Default behavior for opening files

rickcecil 2 weeks ago updated 2 weeks ago 2

Is it possible to configure the default behavior for double-clicking a file change from opening it in preview to opening in a new tab? I've seen the option under plugins to have it open in a new tab, but it does not seem to be working. At least not for epubs nor for a plugin that I made to open PDF files in pdf.js.

Thanks!

Open the Control Panel.

Click on Interface on the left.

There are 3 options to choose from under the option: Double-click files action:

Nice! Very much appreciate that. I knew there had to be a setting somewhere -- this app is just so powerful.

And for a second, I was super excited, but it is not quite what I am looking for.

I would like the PDF to open in the PDF.js plugin in a new tab without the filerun chrome.

The issue I am trying to solve is that mobile Safari prevents bookmarklets from running on PDFs opened in the default PDF reader. But if I open them in PDF.js, Safari will allow the bookmarklet to run (if the cross-origin header permits it).

Ideally, there would be a way, within my plugin, to indicate that it should open in a new tab rather than in preview mode. It seems like this would be possible, but I am not a programmer -- just know enough to be dangerous -- and I don't see any reference code that I could use to hack something together.

Anyway, very much appreciate the pointer. I learn something new about this app every day. :D
