I want to have the "Photos" Directory for all users point to a Samba share on a Windows server. Is that possible and if so what is the best way to accomplish that?
If you are referring to the default "Photos" menu item, know that it is not a folder, but a special dynamic section from FileRun, over which you don't have any control, as the content is generated based on what indexed photo files the FileRun user has in his home folder.
You can point a user's home folder to a remote share using either a UNC path (using forward slashes, like this "//hostname/share/path") or mount the remote share as a local folder or drive (all operating systems offer an option for this).
Ok, thank you, that's what I figured I'd have to do.
Hi! Sorry to revive this old topic. But how would you point the user's home to a remote file system? When I mount the file system with cifs or dav filerun just displays an empty folder.
